Happy “102” Birthday Mom!!
Today is our Election Day. You would be very proud of Hana Mei and Tommy. They have been very active in voting ever since they could. Made me reflect on our times together, when we would go over the candidates and the initiatives and discus their pros and cons of each. You would always remind me of the importance of maintaining a balance…we sure could use it today!!!!
Still thinking and missing you…but also very blessed in seeing reflections of you in the kids and lessons you have passed on to us…..thank you!
Love always,
Tom, Hana Mei & Tommy.

It’s been over 100 yrs when you came into this world Mom...and what a blessing of your love, kindness and compassion you continue to instill in our hearts.
I just received word of the passing of your friend whom you volunteered with on our house association and was reminded by others on the board how he and they respected and appreciated you so much for having sharing their lives with you....your legacy continues on mom!!! Always in our hearts with love, Tom.

Although this is 10 years too late, my deepest condolences to you all.
My name is David and I had the honour of growing up with Uncle Horace and Aunty Jessie in Tawau. They were always a fixture for me either at her home where I was fascinated by her collection or at the yacht club where I believe there is still a picture of Uncle Horace.
While this is late, I hope you find some solace in knowing that even after all this time there are still people in Sabah who remember the Traulsens and the contributions and sacrifices they made in Tawau. I am thankful that I had the opportunity to have been a small part of her incredible story.
May God bless you all.

Mom, would have been 90 years old today. I miss her...so much, she was a loving mother, a friend that you could talk to about anything and really feel that she was interested in what you had to say, a mentor of kindnesss and compassion. There is so much that I still needed to ask her and learn...I find that I still ask her in my heart for advice but it is not the same I miss her smile that would ensure me that everything was going to be ok. You are loved and truly missed by us all.

I miss having in depth conversations with my mother over virtually any subject. She was such a great listener and always gave her most educated advice. Mom always made you feel welcome, no mater if you were a stranger that she had never met before or an old time acquaintance. I'll miss her smile and her unique chuckle. She was honest in every way and I believe when God put Mom on this Earth she was fulfilling to God to the very end. Love always!

I will never forget Jessie. You meet only a few special people in your lifetime and Jessie was one of them. We were neighbors for a few short years but I always kept her in my heart, thinking of her often. She was a remarkable woman and I so enjoyed listening to the stories of her life that she shared with me. The world was a better place because of her.

I am a new Rotarian in Tawau since 2001 but I have heard so much about the wonders Mr. & Mrs. Traulsens. Even I missed them in person, I can feel their presence whenever I passed the "Persiaran Traulsen" ( the waterfront in Tawau). They are more popular than some leading politicians here!! May the blessings of God Almighty be with them always.

Jessie will be sorely missed by all she has touched, guided and influenced over the years. She was a peaceful soul that brought calm and togetherness to the Traulsen family. She was my west coast mother and made me feel safe and loved in WA, as my mother lives in NY. Her sweet smile and positive look at life was an inspiration to me. Her memorial service yesterday (8/21/10) was a wonderful celebration of her life. My daughter Crystal read a poem by Robert Frost, "The Road Less Traveled". Tom talked about their times living in Malaysia, and Carl wrote a story about when he and Jessie went in search of elephants at 3:00 AM in the morning. Pastor Joe played a medly of Jessie's favorite songs to include: Jesus Loves Me, You are My Sunshine, and He Walks with Me. I know she is at peace with our maker and that brings great solace to our family. Thanks to all of you for sending your condolences and sharing your fond memories of Jessie. They are truly a blessing in our time of grief. Thanks to Michael and Crystal for making a CD of Grandma Jessie's favorite music to play at the Church. Thank you Crystal for making a picture board of Grandma journey in life. Pat

Jessie's wisdom and calm demeanor will be truly missed at the Clearbrook Maintenance Assn. board meetings. She hosted the monthly meetings of this homeowners' group at her home and always provided yummy cookies for us. The foreign furnishings and mementos in her home gave fascinating hints of her years living abroad. I was always impressed with her dignity and peacefulness. She will be sorely missed by all of us.

What a most FABULOUS woman ! I am so sad that I did not visit her on my recent trip. She was so full of wisdom and love and PEACE. She always had a sense of peace about her that would always give me a calm. She is now with God and eternal peace is with her. I will dearly miss her. Love to her family -- I mourn her loss with you but will remember and smile at the awesome honor God allowed me to meet and share such special time with Jessie.

Jessie's been my 2nd mom and a most treasured friend since we met in 1994.She always made me feel so special and we talked about everything.I'd put sticky notes on articles to take to her, anxious to hear what her opinion would be.She kept up to date on all the news and taught me so much.I loved when she told me stories about her life experiences.Though I'll miss her wit and wisdom,I feel so blessed that she was in my life, and know that she is happy in heaven now.

"Mom" as I often called her even though she wasn't my birth mom, always greeted me with a smile and a warm welcome to her home. Her compassion for people, interest in their lives, wit and wealth of knowledge are charateristics that will live with me for the rest of my life. Her knowledge of current events was amazing. Her love for her family everlasting. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. She rests now with our Lord and Savior in a paradise we can't even imagine. She's graduated to a level of existence and is waiting for our arrival. Thank you for your life, your love and the many, many great memories.
