Clair Ferris was invited to the Village Green Retirement Community in Federal Way where he did a Lincoln Presentation for Presidents' Week. The presentation was well received with a special thank-you from Kathie Krause, activities director at the Village Green Retirement Community in Federal Way.

"Dear Clair, Thank you so very much for your Lincoln Presentation! I am getting so many positive responses about it. Many saying 'Best program we have had at VG!' A couple folks asked if you'll do another one or are even open to pre-planning and obit writing. Thank you again for your time and thoughtful presentation!"

Presentation - Abraham Lincoln's Funeral

Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 1:30pm
Olympia Timberland Library - 313 8th Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98501

The country was just beginning the healing process after the devastation of the Civil War when it was plunged into shock with the assassination of its recently re-elected president, Abraham Lincoln.

The mourning and outpouring of grief was tremendous. Funeral plans were extensive, including a train cortege from Washington, D.C. to Springfield, Illinois. Because of the length of Lincoln's funeral, historians have called this event "The Greatest Funeral in the History of the United States."

Learn little known facts about the funeral and gain insights into the love and devotion of a nation for its fallen leader in this engaging presentation by Clair Ferris, founder of Funeral Alternatives of Washington.
