Benjamin Schoessler “Ben” Benjamin, 84 passed away, November 24, 2010 in Olympia. He had lived in Kent and University Place before moving to Yelm, WA where he lived for the last 5 years. Ben was born to Jacob and Anna Schoessler, March 25, 1926 in Laurel, Montana. He attended Ferndale High School. From February 3, 1944 to March 17, 1947 he served with the U.S. Navy. During World War II he had served as a tail gunner. Ben met the love of his life, Joanne in Tacoma, WA. They were married at her home Feb 6, 1948. Ben had retired from Ford Motor Company and was enjoying retirement with traveling and playing golf. Ben was an avid sports fan and loved following the Mariners and Seahawks. Ben is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joanne B. Schoessler, Daughters, Nancy(Pete) Dalton, Debbie(Jim ) McBride, 5 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Private family services were held. The family suggests memorial donations be given to Providence St. Peter Hospital, 413 Lilly Rd. NE, Olympia, Washington. If wealth is measured by the number of friends you have, then Ben was a Billionaire. We will miss your smiles, quick wit and campfire conversations.
