I guess its been awhile since I visited SGT Macs bar, becuase I only just now found out about Jerry passing. I first met "1st Sgt" Quintas when I reported in to the 1722 Combat Control Sq back in 1986. As a brand new CCT'er, I quickly got to know Jerry as a great mentor and person who would provide the kind of feedback needed by a young CCT who had more zest than sense. My sincerest condolences to you all. Jerry was a great guy.

I met Jerry in November of 2007, when I became his caretaker in his home. He & I had many laughs & great talks even though he struggled with his memory he really tried to fight it. We watched several movies over & over together, to this day I laugh real hard thinking of him cracking up laughing as we watched. I am glad I met Jerry & his family. My heart goes out to each and everyone of them for their loss. May you all cling to your wonderful memories of him!
(PS) Sorry I am posting this so late, I actually just found out of his death just moments ago. I think I will go to lunch in Tenino at Scotty Bs this week in Jerry's memory! :)

Jerry was a special breed of of the fold. Extremely compent parachutist, great Combat Controller and just one cool dude. Always enjoyed just being associated with him and frankly just loved his attitude. How does one grasp and appreciate the blessings of such friendship and respect?
Rest well Brother-will be coming along soon'

To the Quintus Family. I worked with Q (as we fondly dubbed Jerry) his entire career at WDVA. I was saddened to hear of his onset of Alzheimer's and more saddened to hear it has taken him from our world. I have faith that he is in a better place now. He was one of the most kind, caring, and extremely warm-hearted persons I've had the pleasure knowing. Q also had a great sense of humor. He will be missed. God Bless your family.

Aloha mai e Quintus Ohana,
We wish you all our heartfelt and warmest aloha. We had come to know Patsy through our Aikido dojo, The Evergreen Learning Center and quickly felt like we were meeting "family". The same is true upon our meeting of Jerry. The qualities of care and thought that Jerry brought to his presence at TELC aided our organization and we mahalo him for his steadfast work and skills. I remember Jerry fondly as our "Mr. Fixit", always with a smile, a joke, radiating light and love. He hovers above us all as part of the spirit world. Aloha 'oe Jerry, safe travels friend.

Mickey and I are very sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I had the high privilege and honor of serving together and working closely with Jerry when he was the First Sergeant of the 1722 Combat Control Squadron. I will always remember him as a friend as well as a colleague. His integrity, intelligence and sense of humor brought joy to many a challenging day. Patsy, I wish you and your family the very best in going forward from this point on.

I practically lived at the Quintus house in high school, being one of Kelly's best friends. I had the honor of getting to know "Dad Number Two." He would often tell me silly or interesting stories while I was there... and always made me laugh. The last time I saw him he really only remembered me as "Giggles." It has been a difficult road for everyone and my love and prayers go out to you.

Our sincere condolences to Patsy and the whole Quintus family. I have met him only once, but would have loved to meet him again. Unfortunately I am living too far away, South Africa, to pop in more often. However, we will meet again on a sunny day, I don't know when and where...? But it will be great to meet again.

Jerry will always be Sgt. Quintus to me. And that with the utmost respect. He gave me a second chance that allowed me to make the team and live some of the most exciting and meaningful times of my life. You will never forget someone who goes out on a limb for you. My sympathies for losing a good man, husband and dad too soon. God Bless.

Gerry was a 'warm' presence in our STARS family, at Senior Services. I had the pleasure of getting a laugh out of him, with some silly business or another. His friends and family were, I'm sure, enriched by his life. I'll remember the fine man he was . . . not the victim of a cruel disease.

Prior to moving to Colorado in 2005, I had the opportunity to see and talk with Jerry Quintus a few times over the years in Washington State, including during a fun river rafting excursion with him and several members of the Quintus family. (Tony and I have been friends since 1994 or so.)
It was great to see father and son having fun like a couple of long-time buddies as they led the paddling at the front of the river raft that day -- eventually falling out and into the rapids a time or two, I might add. (I sat in the BACK row and managed to stay relatively dry. It was my first time, so I was the honorary "chicken" aboard. :-)
Jerry was really a great guy and had interesting stories to tell. He will certainly be missed.
My condolences to you with prayers that great memories and God's love will help you during this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Dan Bradley

Jerry and I met at our Aikido Dojo in the mid 1990's. He used to show up with his martial arts uniform on a hanger, very neatly pressed and looking sharp. He quickly became part of the dojo community with his easy-going and affable manner. Always eager and ready to lend a hand, he displayed the values of leadership and selflessness that the Art of Aikido engenders in those committed to it's practice. He was a wonderful teacher in that respect and I am most grateful for the time we shared together.

Condolences to the Quintus family. I had the honor and privledge to work and play with Jerry for many years. Working for the WDVA we traveled around the state providing services to veterans and training to the many providers. When we finished working we would shoot a round of golf and talk about life, family and all the wonderful things about living in the NW. Camping and fishing with Jerry was a riot! I have so many fond memories of my time with Jerry and feel very fortunate to know Patsy, the kids,
Wally and Alice. We were all blessed with his presence, his smile, laughter and the warm feeling he gave us all. Salute to my brother, piece and fond memories to the Quintus family.

To Patsy, Alice, Wally and all the Quintus Family
You know our love and prayers surround you all. The plan seems out of order when parents lose a child. Alice said, however, "He just had no more to give." Though we met Jerry only briefly, reading the messages here we can see that he gave much. He obviously was a blessing to all. May memories of times shared be of comfort; and may God continue to bless you, each and every one.

I knew Jerry as a Combat Controller and as a Freefall Instructor at the US Air Force Acadamy. Jerry was truely excellent at both positions. He had a calm but strong way of explaining, with uncommon intelligence and clarity, everything required for that mission or that parachute jump. Jerry treated everyone with respect and lived every phase of his life with integrity. As a result, Jerry was one of the most respected men in our business. I send my sincere condolences to his entire family.
