Obituary of Doris OWEN

In loving memory of our forever loved Mother, Grandmother (Nana), and Great Grandmother.Doris A. Owen went to be with the Lord on the morning of July 27, 2010, while residing at Providence Mother Joseph Care Center (PMHCC). She was born in San Jose, California on January 16, 1932 to Opel B. Scarborough. She resided there for a short time before moving to Kansas, Oregon and lastly in Washington where she met and married Clarence E. Owen. In their time together they had 6 children, a daughter, Barb Molner her husband Len and five sons, Tom his wife Karen, Ken his wife Alice, Craig (unmarried), Ron his wife Linda, and Joe his wife Julie. She had 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother, Opel; and her son Ken. She and her family traveled many places while her husband was in the armed forces. When he retired they settled in Olympia, Washington and that is where they remained until his death 22 years ago. During her life she worked for the State of Washington for many years retiring in 1997. Anyone who knew her loved her, knew she had a big heart, was a very giving person, and had a great sense of humor. While at PMJCC she enjoyed giving the staff a hard time, reading, writing letters, and watching movies with the other residents. Before moving into PMJCC she enjoyed having get togethers, especially family reunions, and making many friends throughout the years. She liked to cook and bake and in her spare time she knitted, embroidered, and liked to dabble in artwork. She also loved animals and would have had many more if she could. Mom, Grandma (Nana), and Great Grandma we all love you and know you are in a much better place, you will always be missed.
