none JOHN LEWIS OLIN John was born April 27, 1940 in Tulalip, Washington and passed on September 17, 2010 in Olympia, Washington. He spent his childhood in Roy, Washington with his parents, John R. (Dick) and Irene Thurston, and siblings. He attended Yelm High School where he lettered in baseball, basketball, football (co-captain), was Student Body President, and was a member of the Future Farmers of America. After graduation in 1960 he joined the US Marine Corps. At the rank of Lance Corporal, he was a helicopter crew chief stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He spent two years at Centralia Community College before joining Pacific NW Bell in Seattle, Washington (1966). He later transferred to Vancouver, WA (1972) and then to Centralia, WA (1976). He retired in 2000 after 34 years with the company. He had lived in Tenino, WA since 1983. He was an avid fisherman, art glass collector, and a voracious reader. He is survived by sons Marshall A. Olin of Onalaska, Washington and Gregory J. Olin of Lynnwood, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lenore Havens and brother Walter Olin.
