Obituary of Phyllis Baldwin Mottman

Phyllis Baldwin Mottman Died on September 17, 2010, in Olympia, Washington. She was born on June 29, 1925, in Tacoma, Washington to Caleb and Gladys Baldwin. Phyllis was a life long resident of Olympia. She graduated from Olympia High School in 1943. On September 27, 1946, she married George Mottman, III. George preceded her in death in 1983. Phyllis retired from the State of Washington, House of Representatives where she worked as the administrative assistant to the chief clerk. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they loved their time with her as well. She spent most of her time taking care of and doing for others. If anyone ever needed to know how to do something or who to call, Phyllis had the answers and knew just what to do. Now we are all lost. Phyllis could walk into any restaurant in Olympia and everyone knew her name, what she wanted to eat and she always got a special table. She was the No. 1 Mariners fan--even through their losing seasons. Everyone who knew her loved her and she especially enjoyed her time with her “condo friends”. She will miss them as much as they will miss her. Phyllis is survived by one daughter, Teri Mottman, two sons, Michael G. Mottman (Grace) and Toby Mottman (Patty), four grandchildren Heidi Burgess, Mallory Mottman, Wendy Conrads, and Rick Mottman, and six great grandchildren Derrik, Jacob, Kylee, Zachary and Makayla. At Phyllis’ request, a private family service was held. She always wanted to be with the love of her life, George, and they are now reunited. Memorial donations suggested to Providence-St. Peter’s Hospital of Olympia. Please sign the guestbook and leave condolences by clicking on "View Guestbook" below.
