Obituary of Earl R. Mahanes

Earl R. Mahanes, Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, passed away on August 6, 2010 surrounded by his family.Earl loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and working in his garden. Most of all, Earl loved his wife of 57 years, Lois, and spending time with his family. He will be missed by his family and his friends. Many will remember Earl for his many stories and wonderful smile. Earl was born to Claude and Lucy Mahanes on July 12, 1933 in Packwood, WA. He served in the U.S. Army including the Korean War. Earl worked in the Logging Industry until he was injured. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS. He met Lois (Morris) and they were married on February 10, 1953 in Chehalis, WA. Earl and Lois resided in Olympia for the Last 45 years. Surviving Earl are his wife Lois; daughters, Wanda Smid and Claudette (Peedy) Core, both of Olympia; grandchildren, Carie, Isaac, Jeremy, Casey, Chris, Becky, Joe and Sean; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Hanson; brother Lloyd Blankenship; and numerous nieces and nephews.
