Jane Buskirk Lucke passed away July 23, 2010. She was 80 years young.Jane was born in Brooklyn, NY, August 18, 1929 to Pauline Schiebel and Burton Buskirk. Her mother died when she was 15 years old. She graduated from Long Island College of Nursing in 1950. While working on the Neuro Surgical Floor she met the eye of a handsome medical student, Lauren H. Lucke. They married in December 1951. Once married, their life’s adventures took them to Los Angeles where she worked in Orthopedic Hospital in Surgery. After moving to Seattle she worked at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. Jane returned to nursing in 1975 after their four children were in college. She worked for twenty years at Harbor Health Care in Aberdeen. When the house and yard in Aberdeen became too much to handle, they moved to Olympia. Her humor, love and passion were evident to all that knew her and she easily made friends wherever she went.
