Obituary of John Kenneth Lovejoy

JOHN K. LOVEJOY John Kenneth Lovejoy, 80 of Yelm Washington, passed away on January 18, 2008 in Lacey, Washington. He was born June 22, 1927 in Elmira, New York. He lived in Kennewick, Washington for 26 years before moving to Vancouver, Washington where he lived for 8 years. He lived on Anderson Island, Washington for 8 years and then spent 17 years in the Rainier/Yelm, Washington area. John was a Navy Corpsman and a Veteran of World War II. He was married for 37 years to Carol Lovejoy, who preceded him in death in 1981; a daughter Nancy, and a son, Eric. John was retired and his job history included various dry-cleaning establishments, a car salesman, District Representative for Norge Washers and Dryers, Appliance Salesman for Montgomery Wards, and a pig farmer. He ended his career as a Real Estate Appraiser. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Wynter Lovejoy; sons, John K. Lovejoy, Jr. of Pasco, Washington and wife Denice, Jeffrey Lovejoy of Vancouver, Washington; daughters, Florence Lovejoy of Moses Lake, Washington, Debra Fohl of Vancouver, Washington and husband Robert, Donna Best of Pasco, Washington and husband Keith, and Barbara Meek of Lakewood, Washington. He is also survived by stepsons, Ken Shoemaker of Yelm, Washington and Dale Shoemaker of Ridgefield, Washington; stepdaughter, Rebecca Wahl of Graham, Washington and husband Lloyd; sisters, Virginia Niles of Colorado and Barbara Horton of Pennsylvania; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
