Obituary of Richard Levesque

Richard’s 60-year journey through life in his earthly body ended the evening of April 13th, as a result of cancer. He is now at home in Glory land. He was born in Olympia on March 1, 1950 to James and Gladys Levesque and graduated from Olympia High School in 1968. After graduation he worked at three different Olympia gas stations and joined the National Guard in 1970. He worked for the Clallam County Library System and Vehicle Licensing. In 1985 he became a proud member of Teamsters and served for Olympia School District in the Support Services Dept. for twenty-five years. His jobs included Maintenance, Grounds, Custodian, Food Service driver, General Repair Man, and filled in wherever he was needed.Richard married Jeanette on February 29, 2004 and was very happy in his “Cave’ and particularly enjoyed watching Judge Judy. He preferred staying in the comfort of his home in Lacey and enjoyed his buddies at work and classic cars. He was a member of the Pacific Northwest Metropolitan Owners Club and loved driving his “Metster”, a ’57 Metropolitan. Richard always had a smile for everyone, he was loyal and true, and had a quiet, calm manner and brought joy to the lives of others. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Saffell, of Lacey, his daughters Katrina Marie Levesque and Shannon Rose Levesque and granddaughter, Lauryn Marie Hill of Prescott Valley, Arizona He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen of Alaska; numerous nieces and nephews, and his mother-in-law Opal Saffell of Kent, whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Levesque, his mother, Gladys V. Levesque, his beloved “Nana”, Hilma Andrews, his brothers James Michael and John.
