Obituary of Richard Zaheus LeMay

Richard Zaheus LeMay, 68, died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at his home. Mr. LeMay was born June 21, 1936 in Shelton, Washington to Patrick and Ruth (Archer) LeMay. He was a graduate of Kayhi High School in Ketchikan, Alaska. On October 13, 1976 in Anchorage, Alaska he married Ola Jean Breshears who survives. Richard was an Alaskan resident and commercial fisherman owning at one time five motor vessels. His fleet could haul two million pounds of fish per day. Although he wintered in Olympia, he spent all spring, summer and fall on the open waters of Alaska fishing for Salmon, Herring and Cod. He enjoyed traveling in his RV with his wife, maintaining his property and the tenants of the rentals on his property. He loved fishing, making money and teaching his parrots to talk. Richard had been a member of AA for thirty years and sponsored several others in need of help. Survivors in addition to his wife include one son, Paris LeMay; two daughters, Julie Marie LeMay and Debra Jean Gifford; one brother, John Patrick LeMay; also three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made in Richard’s name to Alcoholics Anonymous.
