Roger Keith Guise Place of Birth: Washington D.C. Cause of Death: Pulmonary Embolism He was a resident of Thurston County for 26 years and graduated high school in Wilbur, WA and Graduate of Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA with a B.A. degree in 1977. First Lieutenant in the military police corp in the Army Reserve; honorable discharge June 29, 1985. Deputy Sheriff for 27 years; 26 of those years with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Dept. Married Shawn Long on June 10th, 1988 in Olympia. Sons are Whitney, Bradley, and Spencer; all of Thurston County. Brothers: Jim of Tucson, AZ and Edwin of Spokane, WA; Sisters: Nancy and Donna of Spokane, WA; Parents: Merle and Ellen Guise; both deceased. And his other loving family members: Randy, Lisa, Rob, Hugh, Betty, Terrie, Debbie, Rick, Lori, Jordan, Anna, Mallory, Taylor, Rory, Tory, Robi, Shannon, Lacie, Jacob, Annette, Louisa, Jessica, Joshua, Tonya, Shayne, and Katelyn. Roger was a faithful jogger with his beagle Jessie; a history buff, favored classical & big band music, a voracious reader and worked a crossword puzzle every day. He was a life- long fan of the New York Yankees, the Green Bay Packers, and Coca-Cola. He could tenderly quiet any crying baby. He felt honored and proud to serve in the law enforcement family. His biggest desire and dream was to be the best father he could possibly be to his three sons. That was his greatest success.
