Obituary of Marilyn Mays Gascon

Marilyn Arlette Mays-Gascon, 78, of Rainier, Washington died Thursday April 22, 2010 in St Peters Providence Hospital of natural causes.Born in Belen, New Mexico, January 15, 1932 to G. W. and Iva Mays, Marilyn was devoted to God, her family, and friends. She married Leonard E, January 20, 1951 in Reno, Nevada; they have four children, Carol (Steve), Peggy (Carl), Jerry, and Laura (Tim), seven grandchildren David (Amanda), Dennis (Rachel), Carleen, Timothy II (Natashia), Cara (George), Ricky, and Jacob, three great grandchildren Tayce, Izzy, and Abby. She is survived by her sister Jo (Don) of White City, Oregon, and several nieces and nephews. Marilyn had several hobbies and interests including knitting, sewing, camping, fishing, bowling, decorating cakes, square dancing, raising her kids, and playing with her grandkids. She always had a smile on her face and loved to travel. One of her favorite sayings was, “If you want to see the world, have your son-in-law join the navy!” Every place they were stationed, Marilyn would look forward to seeing.
