Coming up on my 40 year class reunion and thinking of the staff and teachers at RHS. I thought of Mrs. Danielson first. My goodness, what a kind lady. I am (very) late with my condolences, but only reading about her passing today. I couldn’t scroll on by without posting my thoughts about her. I only attended RHS my senior year, but I have nothing but pleasant memories of this dear lady. I sure liked her. Sorry I’m late, Mrs. D. Thanks for being so sweet to the kids. Obviously, I will never forget you.

Aunt Opal was always at the center of where the fun was happening. She could squeeze your hand with her grip of steel and bring us younguns to our knees trying to get out of her grasp, but man, did we anticipate the time that we might catch her by surprise and be the one to do the squeezing. Never happened! And Mary and I spent hours over the years "peeling grapes" for the fruit salad at holiday dinners, but it was such fun being in the kitchen with Aunt Opal and Mom and all the other helpers. Before we learned to play cribbage there was Aggravation, Aunt Opal was always up for a game, especially against Jeff (who learned to be a good sport with Aunt Opal's determination!) I'm so blessed by the memories of those wonderful family gatherings, yes, even Uncle Art's "Pull my finger" trick. I loved being loved by Aunt Opal, she had such a beautiful heart and made me feel special! And the thing is, she made everyone feel that way. I'm so glad she's one of the Saints now, she will be part of the welcoming committee for the rest of us. God's grace and peace - Jodi

Aunt Opal was truly one of the best people I have ever known. I am blessed to be a part of this family. I have so many happy memories of huge family reunions, Aunt Opal will always be in my heart.
I can't express my sadness at the loss of Aunt Opal but I know that Heaven is a brighter place now that she is there, keeping watch over her family.
From all the way down here in Florida, everyone is in my thoughts and prayers....

I really can not express in words the true feelings that I have in my heart for that wonderful and good woman that I called Grandma Opal. She helped teach me the ways of life, except how to garden and we all know how much grandma love to garden! Grandma Opal I love you and will miss you as much 50 years from now as much as I love you now.

Okay, so it's only been a week since you got swept off to better places. I still can't get used to you not being here when I get home from work, still feel like I need to be checking on you, making sure you are allright, when I realize, that of course you are allright, you are MORE than allright. I miss you mom but am so happy that you are free from the disease and back to your happy old self. It's always going to be the way I remember you....We are all doing fine, just like we promised you we would. See you someday in the future, until then.....you are "still beautiful". Love you mom...

Susie, Jack and Mary: My deepest sympathy to all of you. Your mom was a wonderful person who could handle the ups and down of life without ever getting ruffled. The summer I spent on your farm was memorable as were our growing up days in Gregory Heights. I remember one day that summer she was singing a song whose tune was familiar, but the words were not. She was singing "like a rose upon the shore" instead of "Michael row your boat ashore." It didn't occur to her that the words made no sense, she was just happy and singing. I was alway very fond of her. I'm sorry for your loss and sorry that we won't be able to come to the service. Hope our paths cross at some point. Kathleen

Opal, I have to say my most favorite memorey of you is with Seth, I remember the day you told us the story I thought it was sooo funny and everytime I think of it I laugh. You were babysitting Seth and I think it was you were passing a McDonalds and Seth wanted to go in but there was too much traffic to turn into the lot. So you asked him if you guys could go to Burger King instead. He said no with his arms folded and face frowing! After awhile, You asked him"Seth are you Mad at me???" Seth said "NO, I'm PISSED!" It was so funny I think he was only about six at the time. You had a way with stories. I will miss you! But thank you for everything.
