Obituary of Alice Marie Cosgrove

None Alice Marie Cosgrove Alice Marie Rock LeBresh Cosgrove, age 84, died on Thursday, March 25th in Olympia, Washington. Alice was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan in 1925 to Dora and Walter Rock. Alice and her sister Lucille were raised in upper Michigan. Alice met and married Edward LeBresh in Palmer, Michigan in 1941. They moved to Washington in 1945 and settled in Shelton to raise their four children: Sandra, Kenneth, Ronald and Edward Jr. Edward Jr. preceded her in death in 1956. Alice waitressed at Ritner's until her friend Ruby stole her away to work at Safeway, which she did for many years. In 1965 Alice and Ed bought the Coach Post Mobile Home and RV Park in Olympia and became self-employed. Alice created beautiful gardens and open spaces for all the tenants and visitors to enjoy. She spent many hours cultivating the lawns and flower beds while tending the needs of the residents and travelers. Their next business venture was the purchase of an apartment building in downtown Olympia. Edward died in 1969. Alice met Hugh Cosgrove at a business meeting, and they married in 1979. Together they successfully built both businesses. Alice and Hugh enjoyed playing golf all around the Pacific Northwest, participating in numerous tournaments and becoming members of the Tumwater Valley Golf Course. In spite of Hugh's death in 1994, she continued with their plan to retire and live in their bay house on Cooper Point. Alice loved the house on the Point! Alice will be remembered for her love and constant support of her large family. She hosted many grandkid sleepovers, holidays and family gatherings. Alice made it a priority to keep in touch with her friends and extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice is survived by three children: Sandra Milano of Olympia, Kenneth LeBresh of Caldwell, ID and Ronald (Kathy) LeBresh of Shelton. Seven grandchildren: Brenda (Steve) Seguirant, Olympia; Jeff Milano; Seattle; Joseph LeBresh, Meridian, ID; Alyson (Amos) Waylett, Shelton; Jeanne (Frank) Kessler, Sierra Vista, AZ; Kara (Dean) Hawker, Renton; Krista (Roger)Stevenson, Vancouver. Eleven great grandchildren: Evan and Mason Seguirant, Christana, Carrington and Clairee Waylett, Lauren and Brendan Kessler, Manon Howe and Hayden Hawker, Garrett and Connor Stevenson. The memorial service will be held at St. Edward's Catholic Church (601 W "C" St., Shelton)at 1pm on Friday, April 9th. Please join us for a light lunch afterwards.
