My thoughts are with you and your family. Just to share that I first met Mr. Conway at the East Olympia Church. I remember he would say the Lord is knocking at the door of your heart asking for you to let him in. I was five years old at the time when I made that decision to let God in. I thank God for using Mr. Conway to lead me to the Lord. I was saved after hearing his sermon. This was the best gift I've ever been given. Thank you for leading me to Christ! Rest in peace.

Dad, I knew the day that you would be gone from this earth would be awful for me. It then came too soon and took us all by surprise and is more awful than I imagined. I miss you so much - your laugh, your joy, your hugs, your jokes and you laughing more than the rest of us, your passionate prayers, your gentleness and compassion - the list could go on forever. I miss the comfort it brought me that you aren't sitting at home with mom. I miss that my kids won't get to grow up with with their grandpa. You taught us all so well tho and the most important things and for that I am so thankful. I do know that you are soooo happy and I'm so grateful your suffering was little and I know you fulfilled your purpose here and your death planted a seed that will reap a harvest in all of our hearts, and that gives me peace. God is so faithful! Heaven is looking so much more inviting these days! This is not our home and we are just passing through and I can't wait to see you again! I love you, Jayne

I was saddened to hear of Mr. Conway's passing. I had Mr. Conway as a teacher at OHS and he was not only a great teacher of social studies but also taught me how to be a good man. My dad, Chuck Fletcher, recently passed away and taught with Mr. Conway at Jefferson. I remember helping Dad passing out bumper stickers when Mr. Conway was running for office. God bless you John in this time of sorrow.

Mr. Conway was one of my teachers at Reeve's Junior High over 30 years ago. He was a wonderful man and excellent teacher. I always tell people about my story with Mr. Conway and I'd like to share it with his family.
Mr. Conway gave me a B+, for one of my quarterly grades, which made me unhappy as I was going for all A's in junior high. I went in and pleaded my case and basically begged for an A. Once we talked, Mr. Conway changed my grade to an A- and said "Upon further discussion with Patsy I believe she truly deserves an A". 30 years later I still have that quarterly report and his words and I smile when I think about him. I have always treasured that moment and I will always remember how kind, thoughtful and generous he was. He was truly one of the best teachers I ever had!
I am truly sorry for your loss and wish you comfort in the days a head.
If Heaven was meant for any one it was Mr. Conway!

I was so sorry to hear about Floyd's sudden heart attack from Bebe Anne last Sunday at church, but right away thought about him being in heaven with my precious dad (Ron Roberts). They both have such infectious smiles that I can just picture them as they hug each other up there. I know you will all miss him so much here on earth, as I do my dad, but they are with their Lord and Savior, and that's a much better place. I'm taking care of my mom tonight and tomorrow so I won't be able to attend Floyd's memorial service, but I'll be praying for all of you as you celebrate his life. May the Lord give you strenth and comfort as only He can give. Lots of Love, Karleen and Denny Fry and family

To Floyd Conway's family, I offer my sincere condolences. I remember his service in the Legislature, when I was a legislative intern in 1967 and during my early years of living in the Olympia area. He and you are in my prayers and in my thoughts. Sincerely,

It’s going to take me awhile to really accept that Uncle Floyd has moved on. If anyone were to ask me to describe him, I’d simply have to say he was a good man. I have special memories of Uncle Floyd, how he had me come up to Olympia and be his page in the House of Representatives when I was in Junior High. I can remember thinking how proud I was that this man’s my uncle. I can also remember the times when Dad, Clay and I would take on Floyd, John and Steven in our full contact basketball games. I laugh every time I think about it, Floyd trying to coach his boys and play at the same time, and the both of them making little comments back to him. I’m going to miss Uncle Floyd, but in a way I’ll be closer to him now then I’ve been in a long time, because whenever I say a prayer I can say hi to him and let him know I’m thinking of him.

We have lost a true loving friend. Mr. & Mrs. Conway always opened their home to their children's friends. Mr. Conway always greeted us and made us feel like part of the family. We have had numerous jovial political discussions over the past 30+ years. He always brought a smile to us. There was never a more giving person than he. He left his imprint on hundreds of kids that used him as a mentor in their own lives. When you think of the Conways you always think of awesome fun times. I will miss Mr. Conway, and the sincere caring he gave to each of us. Thank you for sharing your father and your husband with all of us. I will keep your family in my prayers. I wouldn't doubt that the Lord is placing Mr. Conway at the gate of heaven to greet and welcome all. He has called his faithful servant home. I cannot wait for the day to see him again.

Dear Joan and Family,
Helen and I wish to convey our deepest sympathy to you in this time of grief over the loss of Floyd. Floyd was always the gentleman. I recall the time we all worked on his election campaign and also the campaign for Wes Estes. I always enjoyed a conversation with Floyd since our views were similar. We have lost a wonderful friend. We would definitely be at his services but are far away from Olympia. May God grant this wonderful soul peace in heaven.

I graduated from Olympia High School in '77. Mr. Conway was one of my favorite teachers, however not in the beginning. I was in class and he and I had a little "misunderstanding". He kicked me out of class. Later that day he called me to his classroom to talk. After that he became one of my all time favorite teachers throughout my school years. When I think of my high school days, Mr. Conway always comes to my mind. He was a very special teacher and I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Conway family,
I am sad to hear of Mr. Conway, or as I will remember him Coach Conway. What a character he was. Great teacher and coach ant Reeves Junior High. What a great and caring soul. I got to know his son John in our sophomore year at Olympia High. Then I got to know his daughter Julie who attended Capital. They really reflected him in their actions and the way they carried themselves.
I am glad to have known this wonderful soul. I even laugh now as I remember some of his really bad jokes. Never off color or offensive but really corny and bad jokes. But the thing I will always treasure was his zest for life. You could always see it in eyes. Thank you to the Conway family for sharing your Husband, Father, Grandpa and Brother with us. We are better knowing him. May God be close to you all.

I'm saddened to hear that Mr. Conway has passed. That is what I knew him by when he taught at Jefferson Jr High. What a pleasant and jovial teacher he was.
He will be missed.
