It will be four years, in two days that you’ve been gone now. It still hurts like it just happened, I feel like there’s a you sized hole in my chest & I can never fully catch my breath. I haven’t been able to since we found out you had cancer, if I’m being totally honest. I still don’t really know how I’m supposed to, & have been getting on without here. They say time makes it easier, but I don’t think that’s true, I think you just get better at hiding it, and ignoring that constant, heart sinking pain. I still miss you more than any set of words could ever say or describe. There are so many things I wish I could talk to you about, so many things I wish you were here to experience in my life, I miss your advice, I miss you being here for my future. But most of all I miss how loved, supported and safe I felt knowing you were here.

We lived together, we laughed together, we cried together, and now we say goodbye together- but for a little while longer.
Thank you so much for opening your hearts and home and welcoming our family into yours. Although Wayne is not with us here in body his essense remains. Our love for one another is what will carry us through these heart breaking times and beyond. It was an honor to call him friend and to have known him as he lived, loved, and died so graciously before us- this was his legacy. Much love. V,J, & Zip

I miss you so very much. I cannot believe you’re gone. I could never have asked for a better father. You’ve taught me so much and I can only hope you’re proud of me and that I get too mess up your hair again one day soon. I wish I could see you and get to hear you picking on me and blaming me for things just one more time. I never thought that would be something I missed, but boy I do so much. Nothing is the same without you old man. I love you forever.

My condolences go out to all the family. I didn’t know Wayne very well mostly through my son Tim, his wife Mandy and their children Arianna and Makayla. I will never forget Wayne’s green pickup that rumbled down the street and his sense of humor. He and my daughter-in-law, Mandy, bantored back and forth when she arrived home from work. It’s almost like he was waiting for her so they could give each other crap. What a hoot! I was also one of the lucky people that attended Teresa and Wayne’s beautiful outdoor wedding. His eyes sparkled when she walked to him. Rest in peace my friend.
