Obituary of Loren Lee Moerke

On May 2, 2013, Loren Lee Moerke went home to be with the Lord and joined his dad, Ralph, his brother, Ed, and his grandson, Wyatt. He was three days short of his 65th birthday. Loren was born May 5, 1948 in Centralia, Wash. to Ralph and Marian Moerke. He grew up and lived all his life in the Adna area. Loren graduated from Adna High School in 1966, then continued working in the family logging business, taking it over in 1987. In March of 1968, he was drafted into the US Army and served a tour of duty in Viet Nam from 1968 to 1969. On September 9, 1967, Loren married his childhood sweetheart, Sandra (Sandy Hauck), at the Adna Evangelical Church. They added three sons and one daughter to complete their family. Loren is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandy; sons, Kelly, Kevin, and Brian; daughter, Tammi; 7 grandchildren, Mark Powell, Andy Moerke, Alexis and Sawyer Moerke, Hailey and Sydney Moerke, and Mackenzie Jones. Also surviving him are his mother, Marian Moerke; sisters, Joyce Stiltner, Janice (Danny) Rayton, Lori Moerke, and sister-in-law, Laura Moerke-Jones. Loren loved to go fishing, clamming and spending time with his family. He was a member of the WCLA and the Adna Evangelical Church. Services will be held at noon on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Adna Evangelical Church, 115 Dieckman Road, Adna, Washington 98522. There will be a luncheon afterwards at the Adna Grange next door.
