We celebrated your life yesterday, Bud. But honestly, I will celebrate your life everyday for the rest of mine. As I told you many times you were my favorite father in law :-). I’m so grateful for your presence in my life. I learned so much about what kind of person I want to be from watching you and Diane. I will forever be thankful to have had the opportunity to help care for you in your last days here on this earth. It was a tremendous honor and such a precious gift. I love you so much and I will always keep you here in my heart.
Your daughter in law,
Sandy

Bud has been a good friend of ours for 55 years! We spent many hours at their home up the East Hoquiam, while Bud & Dave worked on their bikes very late into the night before going to a race the next day. They always had a fun, friendly rivalry when racing. We all had a good time going to Grays Harbor Motorcycle Club races, hill climbs, and parties too. Both of them also spent time out on the river fishing, always trying to out-do each other of course, for bragging rights. In later years, when they both had bigger boats and we were up in the San Juan Islands, they still had that teenage boy mentality. They would look at each other and one of them would yell, “Give it your best shot!”, and off we’d go, racing again, but now in boats! Then in 2000, when Dave started riding again, Bud even convinced Diane to ride with him and we went on several trips together. Bud stopped by my house often on his way to Aberdeen and on his last stop we had the best visit ever, for several hours, reminiscing, etc. I will certainly miss him, but I know that he and Dave are probably at it again, racing in one way or another and I know they both Gave It Their Best Shot!

Bud Ledesma was a friend of mine. I met Bud in January 1975 when I went to work for the State of Washington.
During the time I knew Bud we went scuba diving, fishing, boating, camping, motorcycle riding and more. Mary Ellen and I went camping with Bud and Diane in the San Juan’s, took a road trip with them to Reno and Lake Tahoe and flew to Elko, Nevada for a day of playing slots machines and these were all the best of times.
I went on many motorcycle rides with Bud, most were day rides, but some were road trips either camping along the way or staying in motels. In 2006 we rode up to Alaska and the Arctic Circle. That was a trip of a lifetime.
Even though those were all special times we didn’t have to have anything special planned; just spending the time with Bud was special.
I fully expect to have him go flying by me the next time I am out riding, he always did; that was Bud, hell on two wheels.
I never met a better person and I never had a better friend.

Bud was among the several Horsemen who tolerated me tagging along on a ride. If Bud cut me any slack in riding the route, he never let me know. Despite my smaller bike (and my being a “girl”) I was made to feel comfortable like part of “the gang.” I had nobody else to ride with (safely), so I really appreciated that. Rest in peace, Bud.

I met Bud in 1957 at GH Motorcycle Club in Hoquiam. I left for the Army in 1958. In 2000 Bud came to my home in McCleary on his bike to see if I lived there. Since then we have been on many ride’s and overnite trips. Bud has been a great friend, allway’s ready to ride at a drop of the hat. We spent many Thursday’s at coffee with our friends. Bud will be missed.

Bud you were a truely honored member of the ( Horsemen) , our riding group who enjoyed many rides on our MC with you. I always enjoyed listening to your stories and I learned a lot about riding Motor Cycles in the 10 years I rode with you. Thanks for those great times / Horsemen Don
