Roberta Baumann

Obituary of Roberta Baumann

Roberta "Bobbie" Jolene Baumann, a spirited soul known for her sharp wit and a knack for living life to the fullest, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on December 2, 1942, in Browning, Montana, Bobbie was known to be full of love, laughter, compassion for others, strong opinions, and a dash of orneriness. She would be proud to admit that she generously passed forward her wit and orneriness to her children and grandchildren.

Bobbie, a proud enrolled citizen of the Blackfeet Nation, enjoyed gambling at tribal casinos, reading a good book, watching public television, playing cards with friends, and most of all, spending time with her beloved family. She also enjoyed listening to “old timey” music, with the occasional Ed Sheeran song thrown in (even if she could never remember his name and referred to him as that cute little red-headed singer).

Bobbie is survived by her husband, Henry Baumann; her daughter, Dianne Baumann and family, Maxx Unger, Anneliese (Alex) Phillips, Reese (Kourtney) Unger, John Baumann, Jaxon Baumann, and Milo Baumann; daughter, Roberta (Shane) Wherry and family, Austin Baumann, Paeton Wherry, and Jakxen Wherry; son, Sam (Pam) Baumann and family, Jeffrey Baumann, Samantha Baumann, Trevor Baumann, Kobe Baumann, and Parker Baumann; and daughter, Mischa Baumann. She is also survived by her siblings, Chester Lee Kimball and Marcia Main; as well as a large extended family of 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Chet and Gladys Kimball; her sisters, Eva Best and Dixie Kemmer; and her daughter, Lucinda Baumann.

A service to celebrate Bobbie's life will be held on March 16, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater, WA 98501.

Bobbie will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. In lieu of flowers, take a page from Bobbie's book: hug your loved ones, play a hand of cards, go to the casino, and always bet on kindness.
