Obituary of Clark Shen

Clark Shen, born on September 11, 1931, in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and who passed away on January 8, 2024, in Olympia, Washington, led a life marked by resilience, grit and a commitment to helping others. His journey from Taiwan to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and ultimately to New York in the United States, showcased his courage and entrepreneurial spirit.

 

Clark is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sara; and their children, Julia (husband, Thomas), Philip (wife, Sing), and Marta (wife, Carolyn); as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. 

 

Known for his work ethic and dedication to his family, he enjoyed helping others and making a positive difference to those who knew him. Clark was a masterful storyteller and loved to make people laugh. His legacy of kindness will be fondly remembered. 

 

In retirement, he had the opportunity to pursue his passions of hunting and competitive shooting. In 2004, he won the IBS International Benchrest Shooting National Championship, the oldest champion, at age 73.

 

Clark’s life will be honored and remembered by many.
