Obituary of Linda Dianne Shinabarger

Linda Dianne Shinabarger passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, in Olympia, Washington, at the age of 68.

She enjoyed crocheting, reading, sitting on her deck watching bald eagles catch fish, walks with friends, posting pictures of the gorgeous sunsets from her deck, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.

Linda was outgoing and not afraid to start up conversations with a stranger. We teased her that she was like those Progressive Dr. Rick commercials. Google it if needed.  Her quote under one of her yearbook photos stated that she was as “Quiet as Grand Central Station.”  You never had to wonder if Aunt Linda, Mom O, Grandma Linda was at your event. We all had the loudest and proudest cheering section of ONE.  She had the biggest heart.

Most of Linda’s family resides in Michigan. She is survived by her best friend of over 40 years, Diane Ulfig; her son Bill (Amie) Ostrander; granddaughter, Taylor (Cody) Steinhaus; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Doris Lohrke and Ronda (Dan) Horton; brothers, Jack Lohrke and Louie (Nancee) Lohrke; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.

Linda also leaves behind her daughter, Amanda Ostrander (Seth Fenner); two bonus grandsons, Jack and Luke Fenner; grand-dog RubySue; and several friends in Olympia.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Nellie (Ryan) Lohrke; her husband, Bob Shinabarger; her brother, John Lohrke; brother, Rolly Olney, and sister-in-law, Pam Olney; a grandson; and many other loved ones.

Linda’s wishes were to be cremated and, while she loved large get-togethers, she did not want a funeral.
