Obituary of Donna Mae Vaughan

Donna Mae Vaughan of Rochester, Washington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on January 10, 2024, at the age of 72.

Born on August 12, 1951, in Shelton Washington, Donna was adopted at age three by Ralph and Wilma Parshall.  Later in life, she discovered who her biological parents and siblings were and enjoyed being able to meet and spend time with them and their families.

A graduate of Tumwater High School, Donna went on to attend Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada.  There she met her husband, Donald.  They were married April 16, 1971, and shared over 52 years together.  Don and Donna had three children, daughters, Denise and Darlonna, and son, Darryl.

The beginning of Donna’s career was spent working in classified advertising for The Olympian newspaper.  She went on to work for the State of Washington in various positions retiring from Labor and Industries in 2016, after over 28 years of state service.

Donna was a lifelong reader, a big fan of crossword puzzles, and word games in general.  She was easy to love, kind to all and, through the ups and downs of life, she always maintained a genuinely sweet disposition.  Her faith, her family, and her friends were her greatest sources of joy.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Wilma; and brothers, Bill, Jack and Eddie.  She is survived by her husband, Don; her children, Denise, Darlonna, and Darryl; daughter-in-love, Vickie; and her five grandchildren, Yeshi, Alana, Hunter, Levi, and Randol.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, 2:00 p.m. at Rochester Middle School, 9937 US-12, Rochester, WA  98579. The family welcomes all family and friends to attend.
