Obituary of Daniel Reyes Aguon

Daniel Reyes Aguon, longtime resident of Olympia, Washington, passed away December 28, 2023. Born February 8, 1947, he was raised on the island of Guam until moving away to serve his country.

 

Daniel enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967, serving one tour in Vietnam soon after. His dedication to the Army led to over 20 years of service before retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1988. 

 

Daniel cherished his family and friendships and was always quick to lend a hand when needed.  He had a great passion for sports, whether it was coaching or cheering from the stands. Daniel was an avid Seattle Mariners and Seahawks fan, and enjoyed playing the tables at the local casino.

 

Daniel is survived by his wife, Lillian Aguon; daughter, Jennifer Aguon; grandchildren, Aaron Aguon-Africa and Corina Aguon-Africa; brother, Edward Aguon; and sisters, Rufina Erwin, Barbara Cruz, Vangie Leon Guerrero, and Elaine Tirado.  He is predeceased by his parents, Luis and Barcelisa Aguon; brothers, Michael Aguon and Albert Aguon; and sister, Norma Aguon.

 

Services will be held Monday, January 8, 2024, at Funeral Alternatives of Washington – Lacey, 2830 Willamette Dr. NE, Lacey, WA 98516.  There will be a viewing at 10:30 a.m. followed by a service at 11:30 a.m.  Military honors will be at 2:00 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St., Kent, WA 98042.
