Living in another state I didn’t get to see Uncle Hank much but when I did it was always a fun visit. I was 7 years old when I got to ride my first Ferry with Dad, see my Grandma and Uncles. Over the years I remembered the “cool red car”. Many years later I had the opportunity to take my six children to visit Uncle Hank, Uncle Jerry, and Grandma. It was a beautiful trip and Hank showed us his favorite coffee stop (Starbucks), his beautiful home, and incredible landscaped yard and gardens. He shared stories of his time in Japan and told me it was common to eat squid on a stick! He took pride in his cars and still had the “cool red car” the Mercedes! I believe he had it shipped over from Japan or possibly the U.K. if I remember right? As he showed us the clean engine I recall him saying when he takes her out on the road “she is happy at about 93-94”! We watched cartoons and ate dinner together with my kiddos. It was such a blessing to be together to hear stories of my dad, uncles, and aunt growing up and moving across the country. What a drive that must have been! My own children continue to look up to Hank and the time and skills he dedicated to the military here on U.S. soil and abroad.
Before Dad passed he said “Hank is always on the go, can’t let him sit down cause if he sits down he will fall asleep, gotta get up and get another Starbucks!” Lol.
He also said “Well, Hank’s retired about 5 times by now but keeps going back!” I’m sure his military brothers have suffered a great loss losing him. <sad face>
Uncle Hank we were blessed to have you in our lives, to share time, and build some fond memories. A true hero who no doubt is greatly missed by so many and affected so many lives in a positive light.

Hank was a wonderful man and brother-in-law. We always got along great and tried to see each other when He and Wanda were in town. Hank loved working in his yard and driving his beautiful cars. We would always stop by Star Bucks for morning coffee.
He loved his little dog "Socks" as he did his cars.
I miss him greatly, yet I know he is in a better place.
Love Barbara Ann
