When forced to leave home while in High School, he gave me a place at his Thanksgiving table. He was always very kind. I enjoyed his joking.

I loved the deep conversations John and, I would have, about any and everything. He was one of the most knowledgeable people I ever
met. I loved his beaming when he was teasing me. He was and is loved and will be missed

John was such a kind and loving man. I loved how he laughed and smiled. I remember, after we moved into our new house, he and my husband working out plans for how to build a shed from scratch, math and all. That shed is still in the backyard, a constant reminder of John. I loved sharing a love of travel with him. It was wonderful to hear him talk about the places he had been and all of the neat people he had befriended. He was generous, giving money to poor schools during their travels. He truly demonstrated generosity and kindness. I loved how he loved my mom. How deeply he held her, literally and figuratively, was palpable. I remember how he kept fresh flowers in the house until he wasn’t able to do that any longer. I loved how he connected with my Partner in many ways, including discussions about science and ideas. He was always interested in a good conversation. I miss you John, and I love you.

So sorry John has passed away. He was a smart, kind, gentle man whom I enjoyed visiting with when we lived at Affinity. I will remember him fondly and send my prayers to Cheryl and his children for God's healing and comfort.
