Obituary of Jon William Stanton

Jon William Stanton passed away May 11, 2022, in Olympia, Washington, his home for more than 20 years.  He was born March 19, 1948, to Jack W. and Margaret June (Ostrander) Stanton in Chicago, Illinois. He also lived in San Jose, California.

 

Jon graduated from Chicago’s South Shore High School in 1966.  He attended the Chicago Conservatory of Music, Lewis University in Illinois, and Roosevelt University in Chicago.  Professionally, he was a tax accountant for H&R Block. 

 

Jon loved baseball and was a devout Chicago Cubs fan.  He loved music, especially jazz, and was an accomplished trumpet player.  He also loved reading, Chicago history, organic farming, garlic, ham radio, Bible studies, and church.  He was a member of Bible Presbyterian Church of Olympia.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Stanton; and sister, Suzanne Fell.  He was predeceased by his parents, and brother, Jason Stanton.
