I remember Don from the Union Mills Rd some 60+ years ago where we both lived. Even though I was about 6 years younger than him, i remember him visiting often. My Mom really enjoyed him. Finally two years ago our paths crossed again and I realized why my Mom enjoyed him so much as he was kind, considerate, funny and loved people. Unfortunately, I didn't get to enjoy him long before he passed.
I clearly understand what a loss his loving wife, Sandy, and his two sons must be feeling.

To Donald's wife, sons, and all of his family and loved ones, I am so sorry for your loss. He was a very special and loving person through out his life and brought happiness and joy to many people, family and friends both. I will always remember his beautiful voice and special songs he sang to me and everyone else through our time shared together. His special gift, kindness, and his love for animals. His beautiful rose gardens and how proud he was of them. How he would always pick your special rose every year his roses would bloom. How he was like a father figure to my daughter and always made her feel special and loved. The family always came to her every birthday, through surgerys, special events and were there for us always. Donald used to sing my favorite songs every time i was at their home and i loved his voice. Hiking in the woods, the outdoors, letting me cry when i needed to, making me laugh so hard i couldnt stop. I was blessed through my life to have Donald and his family in my life. He will be missed greatly and my heart feels very empty now that he is no longer here. Now he is with God and he's not in any more pain. I know he's with others now who loved him as we did. My heart is with his family and i am here for you, please know that. Thank you Donald for all the sunshine, love and laughter you brought into my life. I will miss you greatly.
