Obituary of Barbara J. Goody

Barbara J. Goody, 72, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2021, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was a loving and generous wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend.

 

Barb was born on July 27, 1948, in Longview, Washington. She graduated from R.A. Long High School in 1967. She married Kenneth Leroy Goody Jr. on April 12, 1969, and raised two children, Brian and Abby, in Olympia, Washington.

 

Barb worked as a confidential secretary at the Governor’s Office for most of her working career. It was a job that she loved doing. She retired in February 2005 after 25 years of State Service.

 

Barb was a collector of Disney memorabilia, especially Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Tinkerbell. Barb also enjoyed scrapbooking and spending time with friends and family. She especially adored her four grandsons.  

 

Barb is survived by her son, Brian (Christina) Goody; daughter, Abby (Sean) Gilliland; her four grandsons, Justin and Connor Goody, Tyler and Dylan Gilliland; and brother, Steve DeNardo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; and her parents, Louis DeNardo and Myra Sabins.
