I met Carol Fuller a few times, here and there. We even saw the movie JULIE AND JULIA with our mutual and dear friend Carole Dickerson. To the family I can add my name to the long list of people on the fringe of Carol’s life who were impressed with her gentleness, kindness, goodness. I am so sorry for your loss. What an honor to have such loving and remarkable parents. May your memories give you comfort in the days and years ahead.

Please accept my condolences for your loss, which is also a loss to the community and the legal profession. I was privileged to benefit from my acquaintance with Carol, especially as a new judge when she so graciously offered her wisdom to help me in that challenging transition. She was a model of grace and composure always, and her advice always helpful and freely given. I especially enjoyed the "lady judges luncheons" she hosted at her home.

I met Carol in 1978 when she came into KMAS Radio in Shelton to record a promo for her election as District Court Judge. Soon thereafter, I met Herb who was on my weekly talk show discussing the local Bar Association. Delightful and interesting, individually and together, we then enjoyed dinner at my home in Olympia. I left news reporting and entered law school in 1981. In 1982, I sought a transfer to University of Puget Sound Law School, which only accepted ten transfers a year. I visited Carol in her Thurston County Superior Court chambers to update her on my career plans. "How may I help?" she offered before I could ask. She wrote me a reference letter I never saw. The Admissions Chair rejected my application. Within a few days, I began work on persuading him to reconsider. I eventually heard from the Academic Chair, Andrew Walkover, that I was accepted. "What made the difference?" I asked. "Polite persistence. And, I think the world of Carol Fuller,..., if she thinks you belong here, then you do."
Over the years, I continued to see Carol at the courthouse and in town. The last time was in her and Herb's beautiful home for a fundraiser for Bob Ferguson.
Carol, you had an impact on many, many lives; you will be missed, and remembered.
Sincerely, Jean Meyn, Olympia

I wish to extend my condolences to the Fuller family. I am of the belief that we learn from the people we encounter and take it with us, through our own lives. Having practiced law in front of Judge Fuller I saw that she treated the court as an important institution deserving respect and decorum. I would like to think that I carried that when I became a judge. It was also very apparent that her rulings were thought out with a desire to reach the right result. Again, I wish to extend my condolences.

As a member of the broader Fuller clan, I have so many fond memories of family gatherings with Carol and Herb and the Fuller extended family. I always felt like I was coming home when we would join together and break bread with the Fullers. The house was filled with love, laughter and music. They instilled the importance of “Family” in their children, and they will forever be remembered that way in my heart!

I once saw Carol Fuller work a crowd at Union, Washington with as much panache as Bill Clinton. She was a people person.

Dear family, have to say Mom left a big footprint on this earth, in this community. She was well-respected by her peers, my friends in the judicial world, law enforcement, lawyers and lawmakers. I knew her by reputation (a good one) and then I was blessed to have kids in class. I truly knew more about Carol through the type of children she raised. That is a life well lived and her legacy and character lives on in her descendants, leaving the world a better place for her having walked among us. Sorry for your loss, family, and happy that you had so many years with mom and grandma. I wish you peace going forward.

Condolences to her family. I knew Carol through the Shambhala Meditation Center. We worked briefly together when I designed a small meditation space for their beautiful new house in Olympia. Always a pleasure to spend time with her.
