Obituary of Vicki (Burke) Hopkins

Vicki M. (Burke) Hopkins passed away August 14, 2019 in Yelm, Wash., her home of 28 years.  She was born January 1, 1949 to Eugene and Margaret Burke in Pittsburg, Kan.  She also lived in Independence, Mo.

In 1967, Vicki graduated from high school in Oswego, Kan.  In August 1975, she married Charles Martin Hopkins II in Miami, Okla.  She worked for Morningside in Olympia, retiring in 2013.

Vicki had an engaging sense of humor and infectious laugh.  She loved her walks in the park and spending time with her grandson.

She is survived by her son, Charles Martin Hopkins III of Yelm; daughter Lebra A. Duncan of Lacey, Wash.l; grandson, C.J. Hopkins; brothers, Thomas Burke of Kansas City, Mo., Michael Burke of Yelm, James Burke of LaCygne, Kan., Daniel Burke of Hotchkiss, Colo., Timothy Burke of Andover, Kan., John Burke of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Dennis Burke of Pittsburg, Kan.; and sister, Mary Aspenson of Wichita, Kan. She was predeceased by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2019, 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Jacob Smith House, 4500 Intelco Loop, Lacey, WA 98503.
