Patricia Moore

Obituary of Patricia Lee Moore

Born April 8, 1939 in Skykomish, Washington, Patricia Lee “Pat” Moore was the only child born to Margaret Jean Clark and Robert Clark.  Pat grew up in the Olympia area, attending local schools and experiencing the culture of downtown.  She spoke often of her experiences in “Old Olympia,” including oyster culture, the magic of the movie theater, and visits from her parents as a young child.

She is well known for managing apartments with her husband at Southwick Court in Lacey for nearly 40 years until their retirement. Pat possessed many talents and skills, including her management, gardening, crocheting/knitting, and reading—she always had her eyes set on the next good book.  She also taught those around her important lessons on perseverance in the face of adversity, as she navigated a major life-change following a laryngectomy nearly 30 years ago.  She found ways to maintain a sense of humor while working hard to maintain her voice.

Pat passed away January 8, 2020 in Olympia at age 80. She is predeceased by her husband, Harold Moore.  She leaves behind five sons: Michael (Susan) Moore, James Jeffrey (Carrie) Moore, John (Annette) Moore, David Moore, and Mark Moore.  She also leaves behind numerous cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
